1. Introduction
Killzone Gaming t/a KZG ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we manage your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
This policy is governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information reasonably necessary to provide our game server monitoring and related services.
- Technical & Usage Data: We automatically collect data via Cloudflare Zaraz and Google Analytics 4. This includes IP addresses (anonymized), browser type, device information, and interaction patterns (e.g., page views, navigation flows).
- Performance Data: When you use tools like our ping tester, technical latency results are temporarily stored in your browser's local storage to optimize performance.
- Server Data: We query public game server information (IPs, player counts, metadata) from third-party sources to display real-time status.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our game server monitoring dashboard;
- Optimize performance by caching server status and latency results;
- Analyze user trends to improve user experience;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
4. Cookies and Local Storage
We use cookies and local storage technologies to ensure our website functions correctly and to analyze usage.
4.1 Essential Technologies
These are required for the website to function (e.g., temporary performance caches). These cannot be disabled.
4.2 Analytics
We use Cloudflare Zaraz and Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymous usage statistics. We do not present a cookie consent banner. If you wish to opt out of analytics tracking, you can do so using your browser's built-in privacy settings or a browser extension such as uBlock Origin.
5. Disclosure and Third Parties
We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information to the following third parties for operational purposes:
- Infrastructure Providers: Cloudflare (hosting, security, and database storage).
- Analytics Providers: Google Analytics 4 (traffic analysis), processed via Cloudflare Zaraz.
- Law Enforcement: If required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights.
Note: Third-party services are governed by their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of Google, Cloudflare, and Steam.
6. International Data Transfers (APP 8)
Your information may be processed outside of Australia, including in the United States, where our infrastructure providers (e.g., Cloudflare, Google) operate. By using our service, you consent to this cross-border transfer in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles. We take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients handle your data securely.
7. Security and Retention
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures (such as HTTPS encryption and secure Cloudflare infrastructure) to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this policy (e.g., analytics data is retained per Google's retention settings; local performance caches expire automatically after short intervals).
8. Your Rights (Access & Correction)
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:
- Access (APP 12): Request access to personal information we hold about you.
- Correction (APP 13): Request correction of inaccurate, out-of-date, or incomplete information.
- Opt-Out of Analytics: Block analytics tracking via your browser's privacy settings or a browser extension such as uBlock Origin.
